We provide a fun, supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

The session follows the same format each fortnight. The first 30 minutes comprises of speeches: two prepared speeches of 5-7 minutes each followed by impromptu table topic speeches of 1 to 2 minutes. The next 30 minutes is evaluation; this is a positive feedback process to help all members and guests improve their communication skills. The session incorporates regular roles such as a time keeper, a grammarian, a table topic master and a general evaluaor.

Meeting Times: 1st and 3rd Thursday 12:30 pm for one hour at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Level 13 at 1 Eagle Street.

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that builds confidence and teaches public speaking skills through a worldwide network of clubs that meet online and in person. Founded in 1924, the organization is headquartered in Englewood, Colorado with approximately 270,000 members in more than 14,200 clubs in 148 countries.

How much does it cost?

It is FREE for guests to attend and free to attend the club. If you decide to join Toastmasters International, you can pay their six monthly fee which is $65USD.

What is it like?

The group is friendly and relaxed and quite often speeches are entertaining.
