Event description

Description

Brisbane City Council is committed to keeping Brisbane clean, green and sustainable, and values your help to protect the 2500+ plant and animal species that make Brisbane the most biodiverse capital city in Australia.

Join us and special guest speakers, Jono and Tali Shelley, and Mike Olsen, for an informative evening. We will discuss the use of natural weed control strategies and the historical composition and function of Gondwana vegetation communities.

Jono and Tali Shelley from Bush Tekniqs will share with us the use of natural weed control strategies. They will discuss practical techniques of all-natural weed mitigation and provide case studies to demonstrate their effectiveness.

Mike Olsen from LAMR will cover the historical composition and function of Gondwanan flora. Mike will give us an overview of vegetation communities including plant identification and ecological function across the former Gondwana landscapes and its implications on evolutionary scales.

For more information, phone Andrew Wills, Creek Catchment Officer on 3407 0215 or email CCPPevents@Brisbane.qld.gov.au.

Bookings close at 5pm on Tuesday 6 March 2018.
