Free workshop series on Event Videography for young people aged 12-24. Join the Bring It On! Crew!

Fairfield City Council present a free 5-week event videography workshop series at the Fairfield Youth and Community Centre. LIGHT LUNCH PROVIDED!

What you learn:

This free workshop series is being presented by Western Sydney born and raised artists San May, Sivani Yaddanapudi and Saarah Hanif.

The workshops will give you a taster of making professional videos and what it's like to be in a real life film crew! During each of the 5 weeks you learn different aspects of videography and content creation including:

  • An introduction to videography - getting to know your gear, composition, practicing camera, genre and style and roles on a crew
  • A taste of broadcasting - get technical, go behind the scenes and set up a test broadcast
  • Capturing interviews - the art of the Vox Pop!
  • Getting ready for the big day - design your shots and help support your metors as part of their Film Crew at a real life event, the Bring It On! Youth Festival

This workshop is part of Fairfield City Council's biggest Youth Week program, Bring It On! At the end of the workshops, you'll have the opportunity to join the Bring It On! Film Crew, shadowing San, Sivani and Saarah and help them capture the key moments of the Bring It On! Youth Festival on Sunday 19 April 2026. It's not just about theory - these workshops are about doing it in real life!
