Brassed Off! A 30th anniversary concert.
Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the cult classic Brassed Off! with favourites from the movie, the album and more.
In 2026, we celebrate not only the 30th anniversary of the cult film Brassed Off!, but also the iconic album released that same year by the Grimethorpe Colliery Band. The recording brought together music from the film alongside test pieces, solo features and concert favourites – in other words, an album that captures a classic brass band program.
This performance reimagines that album for today. Expect standout solos from our leading players, including Joe Cook on tuba, as well as major works including Edward Gregson’s 1982 classic Dances and Arias.
We’ll also bring the era’s popular concert music to life, drawn straight from the album – including Bill Whelan’s Riverdance – as well as new Tasmanian music by the iconic composer Don Kay, and, of course, plenty of music from Brassed Off!
