About this event

This year's Brain and Mind Centre Symposiums theme is:

‘Collaborative partnerships – networks and neurons. The power of synergy in driving change in brain and mind health’

The event will be held in-person , with one-day program featuring the distinguished keynote speakers :

  • Professor Miranda Wolpert - Director of Mental Health at Wellcome (United Kingdom)
  • Hon. Bronwyn Taylor - NSW Minister for Women, Minister for Regional Health, and Minister for Mental Health
  • Professor Naomi Wray - NHMRC Leadership Fellow , Queensland Brain Institute, University of Queensland
  • Professor Russell Dale - Paediatric Neurologist, Clinical Director of the Kids Neuroscience Centre and group leader for Clinical Neuroimmunology and Movement disorders , Kids Research, The Children's Hospital at Westmead and University of Sydney
  • Professor Alistair McEwan - Chair of Technology and Innovation | Cerebral Palsy Alliance

The event will be catered both morning tea and lunch, and will be directly followed by the Brain and Mind Centre End-of-Year function.

The Venue and Getting There

This year’s symposium will be hosted as an in-person event. International speakers will participate remotely , and all local and national speakers and attendees will attend face-to-face. The event will be recorded for dissemination.

• Brain and Mind Centre End-of-Year Function - Susan Wakil Health Building Upper Garden and Level 4 Foyer

Coming by train/bus:

• To Newtown station and take a 5-minute bus ride from Newtown Station, Enmore Road Stand A (Bus 423, 426, 428,430) to King St Opp Georgina Street, and walk 5 minutes or

• To Central station, and take a 9-minute bus ride from Central Station, Railway Square Stand B (Bus 423,426, 428, 430) to King St Opp Georgina Street, and walk 5 minutes

Driving:

Street parking can be difficult to find. Click here to look for alternative parking options.

On arrival, as you enter the building on ground floor there is access to level 3, either via the staircase on the left, or via the lifts at the end of the corridor to the right.

Registration desk will be open from 8am – 9am . Please present at the registration table on level 3 where you will be greeted to collect your name badge.
