Brackendell Live - The Tasbourne Trio: An Afternoon of Story & Song

Brackendell Live - The Tasbourne Trio: An Afternoon of Story & Song

13 Enfield DrTorquay, VIC
Saturday, Mar 28, 2026 from 2 pm to 6 pm AEDT
Overview

Virtuosic folk, three-part harmonies, and acoustic mastery at Brackendell Urban Farm.

Following our previous successful sessions with artists like Jordie Lane and Marcia Howard, Brackendell Urban Farm is thrilled to host the Tasbourne Trio for a special Saturday afternoon concert.

While Jim Green, Luke Plumb, and Dave McNamara have been the core of the Rambling Roses for over five years, the Tasbourne Trio is their "sneaky side project"—an intimate, eclectic collaboration that allows their musicianship and three-part harmonies to truly shine.

Expect three distinct voices often singing in tight harmony, backed by some of the finest finger-style picking and mandolin work in the country.

  • Jim Green (Melbourne): A guitarist and singer-songwriter steeped in the Irish/Australian storytelling tradition.
  • Luke Plumb (Tasmania): A world-renowned mandolin virtuoso, formerly of the iconic Scottish band Shooglenifty.
  • Dave McNamara: Master of the piano accordion, adding rich textures and soulful vocals to the trio’s sound.

Featuring Guitar, Piano Accordion, and Mandolin, the trio delivers a fun and virtuosic mix of songs and tunes collected from years of playing together. Their setlist is a journey across borders and genres:

  • Global Roots: Instrumental tunes and folk songs from Australia, Ireland, Scotland, and South America.
  • The Songbook: Inspired covers of legends like Richard Thompson, Andy Irvine, The Band, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell.
  • Original Stories: Songs from Jim Green’s latest 2024 release Take To The Water (blending Jazz, Blues, and Folk) and original works by Luke Plumb.

Refreshments & Vibe

Make the most of the afternoon with quality local fare:

  • The Bar: A curated selection of local beers and wines will be available for purchase.
  • The Food: Delicious finger food will be available to keep you fueled while you soak in the tunes.
  • The Venue: Brackendell offers an "up close" experience where you can see every fret-tap and hear every breath of the accordion.
