Create unique and special gifts using selected plants found around us. Two silk scarves- one for you, one as a gift for someone special.... maybe a mothers day gift.... or just keep them both.

Participants will learn how to print clear and detailed botanical prints on two silk scarves.

Your first scarf will be flora prints on a natural scarf background, with your second scarf having a colourful background with more Botanical prints.

Join us for a day of inspiration and creativity.

C OST:

Cost is $140 and all materials and equipment is provided for your use on the day.

You will take home

  • two silk scarves that you have botanically printed.
  • a basic understanding of how to do this at home.

STUDENT R EQUIREMENTS:

Please bring your own lunch. The Kettle will be on and morning tea will be provided.

As we are dealing with natural plant dye and tannins, consider wearing clothes that it would not matter if they were stained in any way. Please bring an apron as well.

Please wear covered shoes.

Workshop maximum 12 participants.

If there is interest in this workshop beyond the maximum number, add your name to the waitlist and please email us your expression of interest to floraontofibre@gmail.com so we can keep you in informed on future workshops.

Your tutors: Leonie Micke and Beth Sievenpiper are excited to bring their wealth of knowledge and diverse experience to share with you.

Beth lives and works with her garden. Her extensive knowledge of her plants and those that botanically print adds value to the success of the workshop. Beth’s talents also extend to being an awesome host who feeds us so divinely.

Leonie has researched and printed an extensive bank of samples, showing colours achieved from tannins and natural dyes. She has explored many plants, and has a love of the Eucalyptus growing on her property. Her local knowledge is extensive and invaluable.

Both Leonie and Beth have travelled the Botanical Printing journey with Jude Tupman. Jude has left the Midwest to live in the beautiful South West of WA. Jude will still join us on occasion but rest assured, Jude's enthusiasm and knowledge will still be present in our workshops as we teach you what she has taught us. We descibe Jude as our ‘Fearless Explorer’, our most experienced botanical printer who continually asks ‘what if’. Working with local, contemporary and historical resources, she explores both simple and complex processes. She has an amazing amount of information and her passion is infectious.

They have all studied with various Botanical Printers and Dyers, both national and international.

Individually they would all run a very good workshop…….

Collectively they present a brilliant workshop!!!
