Boost your Wellbeing Day | School Holiday Program

Boost your Wellbeing Day is a one-day therapeutic School Holiday Program designed for young people aged 10-14. Spend the day with us exploring different ways to Boost Your Wellbeing, while exploring the Perth Zoo and engaging in activities and conversations with others.

Day Out

This program includes a supported excursion to Perth Zoo, which is intentionally designed as part of the therapeutic program.
The excursion provides opportunities for young people to:

  • Practice social skills in a real-world setting
  • Build independence and confidence outside the home
  • Strengthen peer relationships in a safe, supported environment
  • Apply emotional regulation and coping strategies learned during the program

When registering:

  • Please add Parent/Guardian details in the CONTACT INFORMATION section
  • Please add the young person’s details in the TICKET – EXPRESSION OF INTEREST section
  • If booking for more than one young person, please complete one ticket each

Important Information

  • Attendance is subject to the young person meeting eligibility requirements to access Helping Minds services.
  • If your young person has not received support from Helping Minds within the past six months, a phone interview with the parent/guardian will be required prior to attendance.
  • A consent form must be signed by both parents/guardians before participation.
  • If medication is required during the day, the participant must be able to self-administer their medication.
  • Participants are required to have adequate independent coping skills to participate safely in a group setting.
  • Young Mental Health Carers must either: have a family member, loved one, or friend living with a mental health challenge.
  • Some School Holiday Programs delivered in the City of Swan, Kimberley, Midwest, and Gascoyne regions are funded by the Department of Social Services and are provided at no cost to young people residing in these regions who are at risk of developing a mental health challenge.
  • Helping Minds School Holiday Programs funded by the Mental Health Commission are provided at no cost to children and young people who have a family member, loved one, or friend with a mental health concern.
  • Some School Holiday Programs delivered in the City of Swan, Kimberley, Midwest, and Gascoyne regions are funded by the Department of Social Services and are provided at no cost to participants. These programs are available to children and young people residing in these regions who are at risk of developing a mental health challenge.
  • Our programs provide therapeutic support focused on:Helping Minds does not provide treatment or clinical management for individuals with diagnosed mental health conditions, managing emotions, building resilience, emotional regulation, navigating relationships and social connections.
  • All workshops have limited capacity to ensure our facilitators can provide safe, supportive and therapeutic engagement for all participants.
  • Due to high demand, each young person may attend one School Holiday Program per holiday period.
