Drawing on archival records, photographs and first-hand recollections, Nineteen Doors: A Century on Eades Place uncovers stories of migration, resilience and community spirit that flourished in one of the city’s earliest working-class enclaves. From Irish labourers, Italian artisans and Chinese chefs to widows raising children through the Depression, each chapter reveals a life woven into the fabric of Melbourne’s past and present.
