Join us for an evening of conversation to celebrate the launch of Inside the History Classroom: Portraits of Exemplary Practice by Dr Claire Golledge. Drawing on long‑term classroom observations, student voice, and in‑depth interviews with teachers, the book offers rich portraits of exemplary History teaching and a nuanced account of how meaningful disciplinary learning takes shape. Framed by the theory of practice architectures, the study sheds light on the cultural, material, and relational conditions that enable ambitious practice and deepen our understanding of what quality teaching looks like in context.

At the launch, Dr Golledge will be in conversation with Professor Nicole Mockler to explore the book’s contributions to history education, teacher professionalism, and contemporary debates about classroom practice. The discussion will reflect on the insights the study generates and the opportunities it opens for researchers, educators, and those committed to supporting high‑quality teaching in all classrooms.
