Event description

Description

Bond Business School, in association with CPA Australia, invites you to the next Business Links.

In 2019 Bond University celebrates 30 years of teaching accounting to our students. In 1989 the accounting profession, and the way we taught the discipline, was quite different to what we now see. What will the accounting profession look like in another 30 years? What skills will an accounting graduate need in 2049? Join our panel of experts and be part of an open discussion around these vitally important topics.

Richie Hayes | Senior Account Manager, Xero.

Richie spent 15 years as a Chartered Accountant in Public Practice where he gained a passion for business process improvement. He has spent the last 2 years working for leading cloud accounting software provider Xero, working closely with accountants to streamline business processes and provide meaningful advice to clients.

Shari Frew | Director Management Consulting, KPMG.

Shari is the Queensland lead in the Finance Strategy & Transformation practice at KPMG. She has over 20 years hands on business experience and knows firsthand that any process change or business disruption through technology evolution can create chaos. Shari is a Chartered Accountant with a background in internal audit and risk management, business process improvement, finance transformation and change management.

Shari has delivered organisation structure change, offshored finance and payroll processes, implemented RPA solutions, supported the development of Finance people strategies and project managed many other activities in between. As a cross-sector leader, Shari has worked at the Suncorp Group, Macquarie Bank and Griffith University, and supports clients in the Power & Utilities sector, Public Sector and Not-for Profit organisations.
