Event description

Description

Blackout Comedy Night has been running for 4 years. We have had comedians Kevin Kropinyeri and Andy Saunders come along and bring their hilarious performances. Blackout Comedy Night is held late in the year. Last year the Blackout Comedy Night seen over 175 people attend the show across the two locations and this year we are expecting even more!

This year we have confirmed Sean Choolburra to be our main entertainment along with other performers.
Sean Choolburra's comedy is uniquely and truly Australian. He blends popular culture, dance, comedy and hip hop in a high energy, feel good show.

Sean Choolburra
After winning the 2002 Raw Comedy NSW State Final, Sean proved himself one of Australia's most popular and versatile indigenous performers. His numerous talents include didgeridoo player, singer, dancer, actor, songwriter and comedian.
Already an established and respected dancer, Sean was the founder and leader of Sydney's first independent traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Dance Company, the Ngaru Dancers, which he formed in 1993.
A NAISDA graduate, Sean also danced and toured internationally with the renowned Bangarra Dance Company.
Sean was the first Aboriginal performer involved in dance fusion work with other cultures, performing with Flamenco, Indian and Native American artists. He made a name for himself as the lead performer in Flamenco Dreaming, a show that mesmerised audiences for two years.
Sean has performed for the corporate sector as well as in festivals, conventions, universities and on television and radio. He was an artist in residence at the NSW Art Gallery for three years. One of his career highlights was a personnel performance for the Dalai Lama himself.
His recent appearance on the Footy Show has seen Sean invited back for a second appearance, and he has just returned from performing in Hong Kong.
Warm and charismatic, as a comedian Sean draws on his life experiences as an Aboriginal artist, while blending his multiple talents to give audiences a unique performance including hilarious black fella yarns and didgeridoo playing.
