BKids: Book Club (BL)

Burnside LibraryTusmore, SA
Wednesday, Mar 11, 2026 from 4 pm to 4:45 pm
Overview

Recommended for ages 8-12 years. Children can read independently, select books and are keen to discuss what they are reading with others.

BKids Book Club recommended for 8-12 year olds (mid-upper primary school) interested in joing a book club! Books discussed will generally be from the children's fiction collection (CF).

Meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of the month at 4 pm during term time, and are structured around allowing children to talk about what they are currently reading and then there is an optional "group read" which children can also read in their own time at home.

Term 1 and 2 dates are:

11 February
11 March
8 April
13 May
10 June

There will the opportunity to log and review books on our Online Book Challenge software Beanstack (this is the same software we run our Summer Reading program on) and create "shelftalkers" to promote books to other customers.

We are also planning to involve this group in book buying activites to help us add to our collection - your opportunity to read some of our newest books first!

Please bring along to each meeting:

  • 1-3 books you are currently reading or have recently read;
  • 1-3 book suggestions of titles you'd like to read (possibly as a group), just a list, you don't need to bring the books;
  • A drink and a snack if desired (just for you, not for sharing, please no nut products)
  • Notepad and pen

Bookings essential for each session.
