This year's event is set to explore how gastronomy, food and culture, can help stimulate a more vibrant nightlife in Launceston and other regional cities in Tasmania, the mainland and beyond.
The format and output of the event will be:
- an introductory 'scene setting', through a series of short presentations with case studies and learnings from Tasmania, the 'mainland' and beyond.
- and then a structured workshop to explore the key questions and ideas posed at the beginning,
- with a facilitated multi-disciplinary panel discussion to reflect and conclude the event.
- The outcome will be a 'reflections/learnings paper' to be shared amongst the participants and then disseminated more widely through EAROPH's networks (i.e. academic, UN Habitat, Government, etc.) and, hopefully, the networks of the participants.
There will be an opportunity for all participants to enjoy a nightlife and gastronomic 'taster' at the Launceston Night Market immediately after the event. Another way to learn first hand how to make our cities more vibrant.
This is a great chance for participants from all professional sectors that shape city form and policy to join colleagues from the hospitality and tourism sectors, local government, government organisations, NGOs and academia to sit together, share knowledge and points and view and, hopefully, gain some understanding and insights that they can use.
Come and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Launceston and the chance, after 2 years, of joining your colleagues face to face.
