Beyond the Scale - Your Weight Loss Questions Answered
In honour of World Obesity Day 2026: Join our medical team for short expert talks and a live Q&A answering your real weight loss questions.
Beyond the Scale: Your Weight Loss Questions Answered is an educational World Obesity Day 2026 event designed to provide clear, evidence-based information about obesity and metabolic health in a respectful, non-judgemental environment.
The evening will begin with four short, informative presentations from our multidisciplinary medical team. Dr Paige Lanyon-Roberts, (Metabolic Health Doctor), will explore why overweight and obesity occur and why weight loss is so difficult to maintain. She will provide an overview of current treatment options for obesity and metabolic disease, including newer injectible GLP1 therapies. Dr Janice Kiem, (Metabolic and Women’s Health Doctor), will discuss the metabolic changes seen at the perimenopause and menopause and explore the current hormonal and non hormonal treatment options including Menopause Hormonal therapies. Accredited Practising Dietitian Ms Jo-anne Nicholls will discuss how Dietitians support patients using weight loss medications, and Accredited Exercise Physiologist Miss Imogen Nicholson will explain how to exercise safely during weight loss to protect bone and muscle health.
These talks will be followed by a one-hour live panel Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive setting. Panel members include Dr Ben McCullough (Men’s Health Doctor), Dr Amy Coe (GP with an interest in Metabolic Health and ADHD), Dr Jennifer Taggart (Psychiatrist), Ms Hayley Sullivan (Dietitian), Dr Christine Shih (Metabolic Health Doctor), and Ms Marjan Mazaheri (Psychologist).
This event is a safe, stigma-free space for people living with overweight or obesity, as well as anyone wanting to better understand metabolic health and modern weight management. The focus is on respectful discussion, practical education, and evidence-based care.
There are 160 seats available. The venue is fully accessible, with wheelchair access, disabled toilets, and free on-site car parking. The event is proudly supported by BN Healthy, a Brisbane-based nutrition company.
Whether you are considering treatment options, already on a weight loss journey, or simply seeking trustworthy information, this event offers expert insights beyond the number on the scale.
