Description

After learning how to mix greens, the next step is learning how to observe them closely.

In this 2-hour botanical watercolour workshop, we’ll slow down and look carefully at leaves, stems and plant forms. You’ll learn how to adjust greens for freshness, age, shadow and light—moving beyond flat colour into layered, nuanced botanical tones.

This session focuses on colour mixing, brush control and gentle observation, rather than producing a highly finished illustration. It’s ideal for beginners and intermediate painters who want their botanicals to feel more natural and alive.

What You’ll Learn

  • Refining green mixes for botanical subjects
  • Creating variation within a single leaf
  • Warm and cool greens for light and shadow
