The SWIFF team are back in Bello this September for Bello Outdoor Movie Nights, two free film screenings over September 9th and 10th at the Bellingen Showgrounds. There will be food trucks on site, fun prizes to be won, live music, and exciting SWIFF'23 announcements made over the evenings. 

Bring a picnic rug and settle in for two exciting nights of fantasy, 80s music, big sleeves, and funky dance moves, as we celebrate the weird and wonderful talents of two iconic Davids: Bowie and Byrne.

FRIDAY NIGHT: DAVID BYRNE'S AMERICAN UTOPIA

Kicking off Friday with the ultimate date night experience, bring a picnic rug and join us for David Byrne's American Utopia (M) and enjoy the joyous concert documentary that blends song, speech, dance and film to create a triumphant celebration of Talking Heads' classics and Byrne's many fantastic collaborations throughout the years.

American Utopia saw two sold out sessions at SWIFF'21, and now you've got a chance to see it on the big screen under the stars. Dancing is encouraged.

SATURDAY NIGHT: LABYRINTH

Come back with the kids on Saturday to enjoy Jim Henson's classic musical odyssey full of dastardly goblins, fantastical scenery, careless babysitters, and the most teased out mullet 1986 had to offer: Labyrinth, starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly.

After a wish gone wrong, Sarah (Connelly) must solve a magical labyrinth that would make Theseus blush bursting with a menagerie of singing puppets, swamps, riddles, and rooms straight out of an Escher painting to rescue her baby brother from the formidable Goblin King (David Bowie in his most iconic nose contour, and role). 

This is a free event, but bookings are essential.

FAQs:

1. What is happening at the event? There will be some live music before the film screening, you can grab something to eat from our delicious food trucks, find a spot on the grass or in the grandstands and get ready to watch one of our fun films that will start at sundown.
2. Who can come to the event? Anyone and everyone! This is a free community event, but please book your ticket. No ticket, no entry.
3. Can I bring my own food and drink? Yes, food and drinks are okay, (just no alcohol) - food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase on site.
4. How do I get there? Access to the Bellingen showgrounds is via the Black Street entrance. We encourage you to walk if you live close by, but there will on street parking available. Please be mindful of our neighbours when parking.
5. Will the food vendors have both cash and card options available? Yes!
6. Can I bring my dog? If your dog is a service dog, then yes! But we ask that you leave your pooch at home.
