Behind the Scenes - SOILCO Tour

SOILCOKembla Grange, NSW
Saturday, May 9 from 10:15 am to 11 am AEST
Overview

SOILCO ‘The Life-Giving Soil Company’ will be hosting a behind the scenes look at the FOGO composting process.

We are counting down the days to International Compost Awareness Week (3 - 9 May) and have a treat in store for 60 lucky Wollongong Council residents*!

SOILCO - the team responsible for processing Wollongong's FOGO waste into compost - will be hosting a behind the scenes tour of its Kembla Grange Compost Manufacturing Facility on Saturday 9 May.

Take advantage of this exciting opportunity and reserve your ticket. Limited to the first 60 residents* who register.

SOILCO is a local, family-founded business that is proudly celebrating over 50 years of operation. SOILCO harnesses the power of people and technology to recycle Wollongong's FOGO into soil and compost products that regenerate and give life to soil.

This is your chance to visit a technologically advanced in-vessel composting facility and to follow the journey your FOGO takes after it has been collected from your home.

Every attendee will receive their own bag of compost to take home and use in their garden. Reducing waste to landfill and supporting the circular economy are great reasons to FOGO weekly. Every little bit of FOGO helps!

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your tour commencing.

*Attendees must be 15 years of age or older, not previously attended a SOILCO tour and be residents of the Wollongong City Council Government Area. ID will be required. Maximum two people per household. Attendees will need to wear enclosed footwear and long pants to attend this tour. We cannot accommodate pets.

If you are interested in this tour but unable to attend, we have some videos on our Wollongong City Council website which provide information on FOGO and the composting process conducted at SOILCO. See - Wollongong.nsw.gov.au/fogo
