Beginners knitting workshop - 15 - 19yrs | Ryde Library
Ever wanted to learn to knit but are not sure where to start? This workshop is for you.
For ages 15 to 19, this workshop is an introduction to knitting catered for complete beginners. You will be provided with your own set of needles and yarn, so just bring yourself.
The first half of our session will be learning about the tools of knitting – what is essential and what you might like as you get better - how to read patters, different ways of knitting, casting on and off, joining new colours and some basic stitches.
The second half of the session will be getting started on your first project. You can start a scarf for yourself or a square for the Wrap with Love Project. You could even try something more ambitious. Patterns will also be provided.
---
Thank you for supporting our program. Our school holiday activities can book out well in advance so to avoid disappointment, we ask that individuals confirm their availability before booking into the event.
These activities are designed specifically for the age groups stated. Children booked in that are underage will not be admitted.
Please note that children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or carer while in the library. Tickets are only required for the child attending. The parent or carer does not require a ticket.
Cancellation policy: Refunds will be provided for cancellations more than 5 days in advance of the event. Cancellations less than 5 days in advance may be refunded on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of library staff for reasons such as illness or misadventure. Requests for refunds must be made by the day before the event and must provide a reason for refund.
