About this event

European Honey Bees have been kept by humans for thousands of years. European Bees are susceptile to a range of pests and diseases, that can decimate a hive if not identified and managed. While the first defence against pests and disease is good beekeeping practices and keeping your hive strong and healthy, there is also a range of management techniques and treatments that can be used.

In this session we cover the basics of beekeeping with an emphasis on building strong resilinat hives and the management of pests and diseases including Varroa Mite.

A light afternoon tea will be provided that will include an opportunity to taste a variety of local honeys.
