Whether you are new to beekeeping, or just curious about what what's involved, join us this February for an informative session with local beekeeper Glenn Locke. Find out if beekeeping is really for you.

Content

In this session we cover the basics of beekeeping with an emphasis on different types of hives and equipment; pests and diseases including the varroa mite; protective gear; and an overview of what's involved in managing your bees over a yearly cycle.

While we will be adjacent to our apiary, we will not be be opening any active hives, so protective gear will not be required.

A light afternoon tea will be provided that will include an opportunity to taste a variety of local honeys.
