Join our panel of successful ‘parent-repreneurs’ as they share how they balance parenthood and entrepreneurship. Take advantage of free onsite child care while you discover how our guests successfully combine looking after their families and achieving their business goals.
Our panel will talk about how to overcome the challenges posed by navigating parenting, career and business simultaneously and answer your questions on juggling work and family life.
The discussion will be followed by lunch and networking.
Jobs for NSW will include free on-site child care provided by Crechendo. Spaces are limited and child care must be booked in advance via registration. Babes in arms welcome.
About our panel
Carrie Kwan, Co-founder and Managing Director of Mums & Co will guide the panel and share her passion and insights on how working parents can realise success in their startups and businesses.
Peter McConnell, Executive Chair at Commtract will share his experience of balancing a young family with two successful start-ups (one led by his wife, the other led by him). He’ll discuss the strategies he uses to manage his role as primary carer to his two boys and his Exec position.
Edwina Sharrock, CEO and Founder of Birth Beat will share her experience on the challenges and steps she’s taken to launch her start-up while being a mother of two children under six.
Victoria Stuart Co-Founder of Beam Australia will discuss her personal search for balance and the positive impact that flexible work options are making to people’s lives and Australian businesses.
Crèche facilities at Event
- For families with children we are offering a child-minding service for children up to 6 yrs of age. The crèche will be open between 11:15am-1:15pm on the day of the event in an adjoining room of the Sydney Startup Hub event space. Parents will be able to leave their child/children in the crèche during the event
- The crèche will be operared by Crechendo, specialised crèche service provider. Crechendo will provide a secure and safe environment where children will be enterained with a variety of age appropriate arts/craft, equipment and toys whilst supervised by qualified and experienced childcare educators
- You must book and pre-register for the crèche prior to attending the event through selecting the appropriate ticket type. Places are limited to 15 children. All children are to be signed in and out by parents or legal guardians and Crechendo must ensure that parents or legal guardians follow the Crechendo polices and procedures as directed
- Please note no food or drink except for water and milk is allowed in the crèche area
