Learn how dignity of risk aligns with duty of care to support older people receiving in-home services

About: This interactive workshop will support staff to understand dignity of risk and how this aligns with our duty of care to older people within a wellness and reablement approach.
The training will focus on supporting smaller CHSP providers in line with the requirements outlined within the Aged Care Act 2024, the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and Dignity of Risk resources published by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
This will include discussion of:
- what is Dignity of Risk?
- how / when should dignity of risk be applied and how does it support good practice?
- alignment between Dignity of Risk and Duty of Care
- how to document dignity of risk appropriately
- organisational supports required for effective Dignity of Risk (in line with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act 2024 and the ACQSC’s Dignity of Risk resources)
- tools and resources available to support implementation.
Staff will have an opportunity to review examples of their own work, seek feedback and discuss their experiences with colleagues.
What to bring: Participants are encouraged to bring examples for discussion and copies of their own dignity of risk tools, policies and resources for review. These will not be shared with other participants.
