Help us celebrate World Bee Day. Join Mary and Henry Trumble from Backyard Honey to learn about what’s involved in establishing, maintaining and harvesting an urban honeybee hive. Bees play an important role in ensuring our food security - and your backyard can too. In this face to face workshop you will learn about choice of bee species and pollination benefits, colony dynamics, hive placement, equipment, pest control, requeening and harvesting. You will also learn about the importance of providing food plants for bees.Come along to see the fascinating live honey bee display, participate in yummy raw honey tasting, and have a chance to win a copy of The Contented Bee book.Please note: This event uses the Eventbrite booking system. On booking you will be asked to provide your name, email and phone number.
