Autumn Exhibition Opening - Student Artworks

Autumn Exhibition Opening - Student Artworks

By Lake Mac Arts and Culture

Overview

This exhibition celebrates the creativity and vision of Hunter TAFE students, presented in the immersive format of the MAP mima Cube.

Join us as MAP mima unveils a dynamic new exhibition celebrating the creativity, ambition, and vision of Hunter TAFE’s emerging artists. Presented within the immersive 360-degree projection cube, this showcase brings together student works originally conceived in traditional media and reimagines them at an extraordinary scale. Through careful digitisation and expansion, familiar textures, colours, and forms shift into an enveloping spatial experience, inviting audiences to step inside the creative worlds of the region’s next generation of artists.

This exhibition reveals the depth and diversity of talent emerging from the Hunter and Lake Macquarie area. From delicate drawings and bold paintings to mixed-media explorations, each artwork gains new dimension when translated into the cube’s vast projection field. The result is a fresh and vivid encounter with student practice, one that honours the original work while opening new pathways for interpretation, experimentation, and dialogue.

By presenting this showcase, MAP mima reinforces its commitment to supporting young and developing artists, offering them a unique professional platform that amplifies their creative voices. The exhibition embodies MAP mima’s dedication to inclusivity, innovation, and artistic stewardship, connecting community with creativity and championing the possibilities of contemporary media in education.

We invite you to join us for this special opening event and experience these reimagined works as they expand beyond the studio and into a shared, immersive environment—celebrating not only what these students have created, but what they are capable of becoming.
