About this event

  • 1 hour

Join bestselling author Sandie Docker in conversation about her latest book The Lyrebird Lake Ladies Choir at Batemans Bay Library. This latest release, set between 1973 and the present day, is a deeply moving story about the power in discovering your voice as it expertly interweaves the stories of three women confronting the very real issues of modern Australia – from homelessness to the unhealed scarring of historic forced adoption.

This sixth book from the author of The Wattle Island Book Club is an empowering and hopeful story; owning up to the secrets we tell ourselves that can help us find our way home. Sandie says, “A choir wasn’t about a single voice. It was about blend, complementing each other. It was about … belonging.”

Join Sandie for stimulating discussion, with a performance from the U3A singers as an additional treat – all in the spirit of choral creativity. Refreshments supplied and signed copies of the book available for purchase.

Free event. Bookings are essentail as spaces are limited.
