Author Talk with Ruth Brunner - Uniquely You: Bunbury Public Library
Discover Uniquely You with author Ruth Brunner. Join us for an inspiring talk on embracing your difference and belonging from within.
Uniquely You: What If Your Difference Is Your Greatest Gift?
In this reflective and story-led author talk, Ruth Brunner explores what it means to grow up feeling different, and how the stories we absorb about ourselves can quietly shape our sense of worth.
Drawing on lived experience and readings from Uniquely You, Ruth invites audiences to reconsider how labels, setbacks and moments of rupture may hold unexpected insight. Through the metaphor of kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, Ruth explores how scars can become part of a stronger, more meaningful whole.
Rather than offering a simple narrative of resilience, this session opens a broader conversation about literacy in its widest sense: the ability to read our own stories differently, and to question the assumptions we’ve carried about who we are.
Time is included for reflection and audience conversation.
📖 Books will be available for purchase and signing
