Author Talk with Catherine Rey at Helensburgh Library

Helensburgh LibraryHelensburgh, NSW
Wednesday, Mar 18 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm AEDT
Overview

French-Australian novelist Catherine Rey will be discussing her latest book, Lisette.

Catherine Rey is a French-Australian novelist known for her complex and nuanced story-telling. She has written several works in French, two of which have been translated into English. Her first English language novel, The Lovers, was lauded as a sophisticated psychological thriller.

Join Catherine as she discusses her most recently publish book, Lisette.
The deeply moving novel explores the life and death of Catherine's dear friend, confidant and mentor Lisette Nigot. It is in part a tribute to an incandescent woman, part contemplation of what comes to light or stays opaque with the passing of time. It explores the questions: How does death influence life? What degree of autonomy is acceptable in society? What matters to us as we grow older?

Wollongong City Libraries’ author talks bring you face-to-face with Australia’s leading and most compelling writers. They include a conversation about craft and inspiration, followed by audience Q&A and a book signing.
