Author storytime - Dani Colvin at Kingston Library
Join author Dani Colvin for a colourful storytime about feelings and ways to talk about them.
Author Dani Colvin will join us for a colourful storytime all about feelings and ways to talk about them.
Best suited to children 5 – 7 years and their caregivers, but younger and older siblings and friends are welcome too.
We’ll read three picture books, sing, rhyme and finish a craft together that helps children express their feelings using colour.
About Dani Colvin
Dani Colvin is an author, illustrator, and former journalist who spent 16 years reviewing children’s literature for The Sunday Tasmanian. A passionate advocate for the magic of reading, Dani later worked as a teacher aide and primary school library coordinator, supporting children facing challenges such as bullying, grief, and family hardship.
She has also dedicated over a decade to fundraising and community engagement for a national organisation helping children recover from trauma. These experiences, along with her own journey as a parent, inspired her to create I Believe In You—a book offering hope, courage, and comfort to children. Dani illustrated the book using her late father’s watercolour paints, making it a deeply personal work.
Dani lives in Lutruwita/Tasmania with her husband, Ian, and their trusty 4WD campervan, Brian.
