Aussie Beach Experience at Urbnsurf: Swim, Paddle and Safety with La Trobe
Get ready to dive into an Aussie Beach Experience with La Trobe, where you'll learn beach & water safety and how to surf at URBNSURF!
Are you new to Australia and curious about the beach and water lifestyle? La Trobe University invites international students to an exciting and safe day at Urbnsurf, a unique surf park near Melbourne Airport. This event is the perfect way to experience Aussie beach culture in a controlled and welcoming environment.
You will learn practical water safety tips from expert trainers, enjoy a fun learn to surf and paddle session in a calm lagoon, and share lunch with other students at the on-site restaurant. Everything will be provided for you on the day, including a wetsuit, surf board and boogie board. You do not need to be an experienced swimmer to attend, simply curious about how to stay safe in open-water environments.
The group will meet at La Trobe City Campus at 9.15 AM SHARP, where transport will be provided to take you to URBNSURF. The water program will begin at 10.30 AM and finish by 5.00 PM. All students will return together by bus to the City Campus.

Water Safety Program
Learn essential water safety skills to keep you safe at Australian Beaches. You will be fitted with a wetsuit, take part in practical activities, learn to identify hazards and how to survive in difficult conditions. All activities are guided by professional staff in a safe environment.
