AUSDIG provides an opportunity for anyone interested to discuss the challenges and strategies for managing this type of data. See the <a href="https://sites.google.com/ardc.edu.au/sensitive-data-cop/home" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Australian Sensitive Data Interest Group Webpage</a>.</p><p><strong>Meeting 24: Data classification – the first step in simplifying sensitive data management</strong></p><p>Jac Charlesworth will discuss two projects addressing institutional management of sensitive data, both part of the  <a href="https://ardc.edu.au/program/institutional-underpinnings/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ARDC Institutional Underpinnings program.</a> The first involved the development of a new classification framework for research data at the University of Tasmania.  This work is now being extended in a second project, in collaboration with several other universities, that aims to lay the foundations for discussions about ‘best practice’ minimum controls, requirements, and considerations for securing and sharing research data, especially sensitive data.</p><p>Speaker: Dr Jac Charlesworth, Associate Director Digital Research, University of Tasmania</p><p>Jac heads the Digital Research team at the University of Tasmania and is reponsible for providing eResearch services including high-performance and cloud computing, research data storage, and data archiving capabilities as well as broader data governance.</p><h2>Who should attend?</h2><p>For those in the Research, Government or Health and Medical community who work with sensitive data, and wish to better manage, store, analyse and collaborate on that data safely.
