  • Beginner photographers who wants to take your night photography skills to a whole new level
  • Those who wants to capture the magical night sky, but don't know how to do it, and never had the confidence to start
  • Those of you who know the how's of astro photography, however still tweaking your way to gain that extra confidence
  • Those who want to gain some confidence boost in doing astro photography


Here's what you will learn in the 3 hour session;


The first 45 minutes, we will learn the theory related to astrophotography. Which covers The Planning, and quick Q&A before we start shooting.


THE PLANNING

  • Finding the right date and time for astrophotography
  • Location research
  • Finding the milkyway position
  • Safety approach to night photography
  • Astro Photography etiquette
  • Finding composition


CAMERA TECHNICALITY

  • Achieve sharp focus at night
  • Camera Setting to suit your camera/ lens/ need
  • Lighting the foreground
  • Getting your (first) milky way photo. Exciting right!!!


OPTIONAL (Time/weather dependant)

  • Introduction to timelapse
  • Light painting



WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

  • A camera that has manual setting option
  • A tripod
  • A torch, preferably head torch that has red/amber light
  • A positive attitude :)

WHO AM I

M y name is G Gunawan. I have been a photographer for the last 18 years. Currently supported by Nikon Australia.

My passion is to photograph weddings and landscape in my free time. To me, night sky is super magical, which is why I am drawn to night and astrophotography.

After years of my own trial and errors, I design this workshop to assist my students to be better photographer


Booking Conditions;

  • Booking is non-refundable
  • If you are unable to attend, the seat you have booked is transferrable. You need to notify the organiser if such changes need to happen
  • Landscape photography is a genre that is highly weather dependant. If the evening gets cloudy, the focus of the workshop will be on light painting. You will gain the same knowledge as astrophotography.
  • If it rains, the workshop will be postponed to the next available date

Yes, the workshop is a balanced blend of theory and hands-on experience. We will cover topics such as camera settings, composition, and post-processing techniques. Participants will have ample opportunities to practice what they learn during the night photography sessions.

What can I expect during the outdoor night photography sessions?

The outdoor sessions will provide participants with the chance to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting. We'll explore optimal shooting locations, set up equipment, and capture the beauty of the night sky. G will be on hand to provide guidance and answer questions.

What happens in case of inclement weather?

In the event of unfavorable weather conditions, the workshop will focus on light painting, which also has the necessary skill set as astro photography. If raining is in the forecast, the workshop may be rescheduled. Participants will be notified in advance, and alternative dates will be provided. We
