Description

Southeast Asian Women in Business

Women of Southeast Asian heritage have to break through both a glass and a bamboo ceiling in order to rise to the top of their field in Australia's corporate sector. In this panel, we turn to practitioners with experience working in both Australia and Southeast Asia to unpack what challenges exist in Australia and what we can learn from the success of business women from Southeast Asia to overcome these challenges.

Facilitated by Tamerlaine Besley from Beasley Intercultural and the Australia-ASEAN Council, this panel will address the key questions of how to best make use of Southeast Asia talent within the corporate sector in Australia, how culture and communication can both limit and enhance individual success, and why ensuring businesses are made up of people with a diverse range of capabilities and backgrounds is essential to corporate success.

Speakers:

Dai Le (CEO and Founder of DAWN)

Suri Susilo (CEO and Founder of Somnium Labs and PhD Candidate, University of Sydney)

Bernadette Ong (Partner, PwC)

Jonathon Moss (Partner, PwC)
