Artist Workshop - Kate Teal-Spicer
An interactive, hands-on creative workshop using projected animations and visual stimuli to explore the fundamental building blocks of art.
The workshop aims to build creative confidence, introduce new artistic skills, and encourage experimentation and embodied learning. By engaging directly with the space and visual environment of MAP mima, participants are supported to connect with contemporary art processes in an accessible and inspiring way.
The workshop is structured in two parts. The first half focuses on guided group activities, with the artist demonstrating the use of different mediums and approaches to build foundational artistic skills and confidence. In the second half, participants are invited to find their own space within MAP mima to create an individual artwork, with ongoing one-on-one guidance and support provided throughout.
