Join us at Hive Studios for an inspiring presentation by book/word artist Fiona Dempster

We're excited to announce that artist Fiona Dempster will be coming to Hive Studios to share her art practice with us.

Fiona Dempster is a Maleny-based artist whose work quietly engages with social justice, women, grief, and peaceful ways of being. Anchored in language - snippets of conversation, lyrical fragments, and the wisdom of women - words guide her creative process across stitching, calligraphy, bookbinding, and letterpress. Her works are calm, elegant, and subtly ordered, drawing viewers in to reflect on complex or challenging ideas with care.

Fiona will speak about her artistic journey, reflecting on key works and discussing how her practice unfolds between Australia and Scotland. In conjunction with her talk, there will be a show'n'tell of some of her artists’ books and other works from her collection.

Refreshments will be provided. The ticket fee will cover the afternoon's expenses.
