These sessions are demonstrations or talks that are informal and provide visitors with a chance to watch the artists at work and ask questions. Please remember they are in no way a prepared tutorial or lesson and the artists are participating on a voluntary basis.
Exhibition information: “Tree of Us +1” is a collaborative textile art exhibition celebrating creativity, friendship, and the beauty of the world around us. Originally formed by three artists united by a love of trees, the group welcomed a fourth member, inspiring the playful “+1” in the title.
In this second exhibition together, the artists explore A Moment in Time, capturing the details and wonders of the natural and built environment through their cameras and translating them into intricate textile artworks. From the elegance of architecture to the vibrancy of landscapes, from subtle textures to bold patterns and colours, each piece reflects the artists’ unique responses to what amazes them.
Using a variety of techniques—hand stitching, fabric printing, painting, paper, tatting, and hand-dyed fabrics—the artists challenge themselves to experiment, innovate, and support one another through regular meetings and shared work-in-progress discussions. The result is a dynamic, richly textured collection that celebrates collaboration, skill, and the joy of discovery.
Also on display are additional textile works from A Journey in Time series and other artworks from the artists.
