Come and enjoy a creative morning of art-making for all ages and abilities!

ART PLAY welcomes young families and individuals of all abilities to explore the exhibition at MAP mima and create a new art activity inspired by what you see. Each session is guided by an experienced and friendly art educator. Come and get creative, enjoy a coffee from Harry & Lola’s café, and take time to wander through the beautiful Speers Point Park.

This perfect family morning runs on selected Sundays throughout 2026 and is not to be missed!

Details:

  • Ages: All ages and abilities welcome
  • When: 10am-11:30am on selected Sundays. ART PLAY does not run during the school holidays.
  • All materials provided
  • Bookings essential
  • Please be mindful to cancel your tickets if you are unable to attend, as we often have a waitlist for each session.

About the venue: MAP mima

MAP mima is located in Speers Point Park, off Park Street, on the edge of Lake Macquarie. MAP mima is accessible by ramp with accessible toilets. MAP can be reached from the lake foreshore cycleway, the water, or by public transport. There’s parking for cars, and buses with accessible spaces available, onsite and in the surrounding parklands.

This event may be photographed and filmed and your image could be used in advertising and promotion by Lake Macquarie City Council. Should you wish to not be photographed or filmed please advise event organisers on entry at the event.
