Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

If you’ve ever wanted to see what’s inside Coffs’ new courthouse without guilt or accusation then the time has arrived. The Friends of the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery are taking ART to court and you are invited.

The courthouse gardens and foyer will be the location for a special evening to herald a new phase for the Arts on the Coffs Coast. Join us on the eve of the STILL exhibition, which is placing us on the Australian Arts map and in anticipation of breaking ground on our new gallery space.

JAMES VALENTINE from ABC Radio and Television will host a Pub Chat with Dave Horsley from Screenwave, Jo Besley our Gallery curator, drama and dance teacher Belinda Lemair from Young Actors Studio and Lisa Slade curator of the Art Gallery of South Australia and judge of our very own STILL art competition.

SCOTT MULLER of TEN TENORS fame will provide a private concert, mixing classical and contemporary music. Prepare for goose bump inducing vocal beauty and a bit of rock 'n roll.

JOHN THIERING will produce one of his world famous sand paintings right before our very eyes. John creates a compelling narrative through sand images produced against a lightbox and projected onto a screen. A captivating and unique experience.

PLUS as we mingle through the Courthouse gardens, Belinda Lemair's drama students will entertain us with mime and circus acts and students from TAFE will surprise us with an interactive art demonstration.

ALL FOOD AND DRINK IS INCLUDED. Spare Chef will cater delicious gourmet creations and beer, wine and soft drink will be flowing throughout the evening. Be sure to arrive hungry!
