Overview

Discover Army Aviation! Aircraft on display, VR experiences, meet our soldiers & enjoy delicious food as we celebrate 125 years.

To celebrate 125 years of Australian Army service, Army bases across the nation are opening their doors to showcase what we do, how we do it, and the people who make it possible.

Here in Oakey, the Army Aviation Flying Museum will be welcoming the community for a rare opportunity to explore our aircraft, our history, and the team behind Army Aviation.

Come and meet our soldiers, hear their stories, learn how our aircraft operate, and maybe—even with a friendly wink—see if we can spark your interest in a future Army career.

You’ll also enjoy a variety of delicious food options, including coffee, sweet treats, sausage sizzle, wood‑fired pizzas, cold drinks, and slow‑smoked brisket burgers available for purchase.

Experience the thrill of our virtual reality displays and get up close to some of our equipment inclduing one of our Black Hawk helicopters! This is the first Open Day we’ve held in many years, so make the most of the chance and come say hello.
