Architecture for Kids School is hosting an architectural workshop for children on Wednesday 9 July 2025.Taking place at Orange Regional Gallery, Architecture for Kids School is all about inspiring, exciting and educating children about architecture and the built environment.Architecture for Kids School is a wonderful, optimistic and vibrant model aimed at teaching our kids how they can make change and how important architecture and the built environment is for the community and the future of our planet. It will be led by architect, Louise O’Brien.To coincide with Orange Regional Gallery’s 'Mighty Minds/Mega Machines', Architecture for Kids School and the NSW Architects Registration Board present Future Homes 2050 – Architecture as a Machine for Living.Future Homes 2050 – Architecture as a Machine for Living, is a fun, interactive presentation introducing our children to the idea that homes should be efficient, functional and designed around human needs.Children will experiment with modular elements using cardboard, foam and recycled materials to create adaptable spaces, discover how to raise a structure on stilts, design a roof top garden and imagine their own spaces - a futuristic pod, a floating city home, or a compact, transformable structure.Children will sketch their design, create their models and present to the group at the end of the session.Age Group: 6-12 yearsCost: $5.00This workshop is designed as a drop off/pick up session with drop off at the West Room, Orange Regional Gallery.
