Arch_Manu Talk Series 43_ Hussam Salah
Concrete 3D-Printing Technologies: comparison between 3d printing technologies based on real-time applications.
Join us for Arch_Manu Talk Series 43 with Hussam Salah, Operations Manager, Tamvinci.
Talk title: Concrete 3D-Printing Technologies: comparison between 3d printing technologies based on real-time applications.
Abstract: This presentation explores 3D printing with concrete as an innovative construction technology transforming the built environment. It highlights the fundamental principles of additive manufacturing and explains the main concrete 3D printing technologies, including extrusion-based systems, robotic arm printing, and gantry systems. The discussion covers material design, mix optimisation, pumpability, buildability, and the role of admixtures in achieving printable performance. Real-time applications and case studies from regional and international projects are presented to demonstrate practical implementation, challenges, and solutions. The session aims to provide technical insight into process control, structural considerations, sustainability benefits, and future opportunities in digital construction.
Speaker bio: Hussam Salah is the Operations Manager, Tamvinci and mechanical engineer specialised in concrete 3D printing, with hands-on experience delivering more than 10 large-scale projects. Expertise includes material optimization, mix coordination, printing parameter control, and on-site execution. Delivered 30+ professional workshops and supported clients in implementing tailored concrete 3D printing solutions for complex site conditions and project requirements.
Formal CPD offering: his talk is offered as a formal CPD course for architects, mapped to the performance criteria of PC19 and PC39 in the Australian 2021 National Standard of Competencies for Architects. You will earn 1 formal point upon completing the CPD questions. If you would like to receive a certificate, please select the Formal CPD Add-On when ordering your ticket. The questionnaire will be sent to you on the morning of the course. A certificate will be issued once your attendance for the full lecture hour is confirmed. Please note that late arrivals and early departures will result in the loss of the Formal CPD certificate.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to integrate the material selection, structural and construction systems established in the conceptual design into the detailed design and documentation. Also to understand the purpose of project feasibility assessments, including research of site constraints, opportunities and risks, and methods of determining preliminary cost analysis.
SDG Goals: This presentation addresses the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals 9 and11 .
Online: Tuesday 3 March 2026, 4:00-5:30PM AEDT
The MS Teams meeting link will be emailed with your registration confirmation.
This event is organised by the ARC Centre for Next-Gen Architectural Manufacturing (Arch_Manu). For further information please visit: www.archmanu.com
