Thank you for registering for Exploring Watercolour Monotype with Annika Romeyn on 8 - 9 June, 2024 at The Makers Studio Central Coast Inc. (Russell Drysdale St East Gosford).
ABOUT THE CLASS
Watercolour monotype is a relatively fluid and immediate method of printmaking, resulting in a single vivid impression. Watercolour is applied to a plastic plate and printed onto damp paper with the strong pressure of an etching press. This process lends itself to experimentation and is best used to mediate the unique painterly marks of each individual. Annika will spend time with class members to consider how the technique might be adapted to suit their goals. Annika will guide participants through the process of preparing and painting on the plate, and will assist the group to gain confidence using an etching press to make their own prints. This class is appropriate for printmakers of all levels and will particularly benefit those with some interest or experience in watercolour painting.
