The Baroque ensemble, Society XVII, a newly formed group of highly esteemed musicians will explore rare music for violin, early plucked strings and bass continuo. The group comprises Baroque violin, Baroque cello, harp, theorbo and organ and the program includes music by Viviani, Albertini, Mealli, Gabrielli, Stradella and Bertali.

In the serene and beautiful space of Opus30, you will experience wonderful music as it would once have been performed, on original instruments and in close contact with the audience. A rare experience and not to be missed.

Originally a Primitive Methodist chapel on Winters Flat, Castlemaine, this historic building is now venue to Opus30, a gallery and concert space inviting the public to experience fine accomplishment, expression, skill and integrity within the field of contemporary Australian and International arts with a focus on metalwork, jewellery, ceramics, visual art and music.
