Best known as the powerhouse lead singer of Bachelor Girl, Tania Doko is part of Australian music history. Bachelor Girl’s double-platinum, ARIA Award-winning debut album produced a string of iconic hits including Buses and Trains, Treat Me Good, Permission to Shine and Lucky Me. Buses and Trains now holds the remarkable distinction of being the most played Australian composition of the past 25 years.
Beyond Bachelor Girl, Tania’s career as a songwriter and vocalist has reached well beyond our shores. During her years based in Sweden, she became a sought-after global songwriter, co-writing and featuring on major releases for artists including The Veronicas, Tina Arena, Jessica Mauboy, Samantha Jade, Sheppard, and for the US Disney film Step Up 3. In 2022, she was awarded the Australian Women in Music Songwriter Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the craft.
Her work also spans television and theatre, including mentoring on Channel 7’s Popstars and performing in Tim Rice’s Musical Spectacular alongside Kate Ceberano, INXS and Anthony Warlow. In recent years, Tania has reignited her solo career, releasing her acclaimed EP The Beauty Is in the Broken, with the single Harder Now reaching No. 4 on the AIR charts and cementing her status as a compelling contemporary solo artist.
