An interactive Webinar to gain an understanding of Selective Mutism and strategies to support a student with this anxiety disorder.

Selective Mutism Support Adelaide presents a two and a half hour Webinar about Selective Mutism (SM) via Microsoft Teams. It is suitable for Educators teaching children aged 3 - 15.

The webinar will cover:

  • What Is SM?
  • Dos and Don'ts of interacting with a child with SM
  • Practical classroom strategies for supporting a child with SM
  • Assessment and SM
  • Sliding in/Shaping and other therapeutic techniques for SM

PD Certificate of 3 hour attendance can be issued. The webinar will be recorded. By registering, you consent to the recording. Relay Acees will be provided within 7 days. Your purhcase provides indivudal access. Group access and discount codes are available by contacting ceri@happyfamiliescbc.org

About Ceri Dermody, Presenter

Ceri is a specialist working with children with Selective Mutism (Selective Mutism Support Adelaide), providing direct support for children with SM and their families, as well as providing training, advice and intervention plans for schools to help support students with SM. Ceri works locally across South Australia and also offers phone and video consultations nationally and internationally. Ceri is a psychology graduate, qualified primary school teacher and trained behavioural therapist with over 30 years experience of working with children with SM.
