Description
With creative direction from Izrayl Brinsdon, comes a multidisciplinary study of Australian singer songwriter, Paul Kelly.
For over two years, Brinsdon has sought to capture and collaborate with the enigmatic Paul Kelly in an up close and personal setting through film, photo, illustration and sound.
On Monday the 16th of July, Kelly invited Brinsdon’s team into his home for an intimate look at his world.
Brinsdon worked closely with International photographer, Jake Mein, Australian illustrator, Marcus Dixon and Pass~Port founder Trent Evans to produce a range of t-shirts and skateboards based on the afternoon they spent with the Australian legend. Accompanying the release is a 16mm film directed by Brinsdon in collaboration with DOP Gabriel Francis, that captures a side of Kelly seldom seen by the public.
For one night only all works from the project will be for sale in efforts to raise much needed funding for a small remote youth space. Brinsdon and company have partnered with the Bidyadanga Aboriginal Community to donate proceeds from the project to help fund the town’s first skateboard facility.
The team will also visit the community in person to donate skateboards, products and parts to get them up and rolling.
Join us at COMMUNE Waterloo -901 Bourke St on Friday, October 12 from 6pm for a feast of film, photo and illustration in celebration of Kelly’s anticipated album release “Nature”.
This project was made possible thanks to Pass~Port, COMMUNE, Gold Records Australia, EMI & Created For Life
