An Acting Masterclass in Connection
Celebrated Australian actors Steve Le Marquand and Pippa Grandison will host a special acting masterclass at the 2026 WA Made Film Festival.

This practical session encourages actors to deepen their connection to the text and to each other through two-handed scene work, using contemporary film, television and theatre scripts. Scenes will be provided in advance, giving participants time to familiarise themselves with the material before working on the floor with Steve and Pippa. The masterclass will also include a guided warm-up, along with games and exercises designed to support the scene work and build confidence, focus and collaboration.
Steve Le Marquand bio
Steve Le Marquand is a highly respected Australian actor with an extensive career across film, television and theatre. His film credits include Last Train to Freo, Beneath Hill 60, Red Dog: True Blue, Christmess, Two Hands and Broke, earning multiple AACTA and Film Critics Circle nominations and awards. On television, he has appeared in Deadloch, The Twelve, Rake, Underbelly: Razor, Mystery Road: Origin, Janet King and Blue Murder. A seasoned stage performer, Steve has worked with Belvoir, Sydney Theatre Company, Black Swan and MTC, and co-created the acclaimed production He Died With A Felafel In His Hand.
Pippa Grandison bio
Pippa Grandison is a highly regarded Australian actor with a career spanning more than 30 years across theatre, television and film. Her stage credits include Muriel’s Wedding: The Musical, Into the Woods, Mary Poppins, Wicked, The Threepenny Operaand Barracking for the Umpire. On screen, Pippa has appeared in Frayed, Underbelly: Razor, Home and Away, Mystery Road: Origin, Population 11 and Brides of Christ. Her film work includes Muriel’s Wedding, Broke and Book Week. Since returning to Perth, Pippa has also directed productions for Fremantle Theatre Company and WAAPA.
This session concludes at 2pm with half an hour included at the end to relax, chat, buy a drink at the bar and enjoy some nibbles.
