EXCITING GUEST SPEAKER:
Dr Sarah Castine, Associate Director of the Resilient Reefs, Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF)
Sarah’s presentation will focus on reef management for future resilience. She will be speaking about GBRF’s new ‘Resilient Reefs’ initiative, which is starting off with five pilot sites including Palau, New Caledonia, Belize, Ningaloo and the Great Barrier Reef.
Initiated by the GBRF, Resilient Reefs is a collaboration with UNESCO World Heritage Marine Programme, The Nature Conservancy’s Reef Resilience Network, Columbia University’s Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes, Resilient Cities Catalyst and AECOM. The program is enabled by the BHP Foundation. These global partners each bring unique expertise and support to the pilot sites, as well as help to share the lessons and learnings from the Initiative with Reef communities around the world.
