Event description

Description

Did you know that at the rate of three new cases of dementia being diagnosed a week in Canberra, there will be approximately 5,300 people living with dementia in the ACT by the end of 2017?

We all have a connection with dementia. It will impact the people in our lives; our customers, neighbours, friends, family – us.

Alzheimer’s Australia ACT invites you to Gather Round the Table with us for breakfast on Tuesday 29 August to support those living with dementia in our region.

At the breakfast you will be inspired by Australian food icon Maggie Beer AM, and Ngaire Hobbins, international authority on nutrition for aged care, as they share their philosophy and wisdom about the impact of good food on a person’s general wellbeing, state of mind, and brain health.

Network with ACT MLAs, local businesses, government representatives and professionals in the health, aged care and community sectors.

This will not be your average business breakfast – it will be a space where good local food is celebrated, where inspirational ideas around nutrition and positive ageing are shared and generated, where serendipitous connections are made, and where a deeper understanding of dementia in our community is fostered.

Book your ticket now and make this the cause that you support during National Dementia Awareness Month – your involvement will make a difference to the lives of people with dementia and their families in the ACT.

Ticket Information

VIP - VIP ticket holders kick off the event at 6:30am with a tour of the AIS Arena "Sportex" facility with an elite athlete and a free barista coffee. VIP ticket holders also receive priority seating at the breakfast, near our guests of honour, Maggie Beer, Ngaire Hobbins and Adam Shirely.

Standard - Standard ticketing price covers breakfast, tea and coffee on the morning (and gives you a fun way to start your business day).

Persons living dementia and their carers - Concessional pricing has been established for persons living with dementia and their carers. Our consumers are the heart of our organisation and the opportunity for them to join us in networking and fundraising events is so important to us.
