Alternatives to Violence Project Taster
A 'taste' of what AVP workshops are about and a conversation about its approach for the church
Alternatives to Violence (AVP) is a community-based organisation that started in 1975 and has spread across the globe - with a presence in Australia and Queensland since 1991.
AVP Queensland ’s vision is for an inclusive and nonviolent community where people live in peace, justice and dignity. Using small group, experiential and accessible workshops, AVP Qld facilitates self-empowerment and the ability for people to build community and liberate themselves and others from the burden of violence in all its forms.
On Friday 30 January 2026 AVP Qld is offering us a chance to ‘taste’ what one of their workshops is like and will be here to answer any questions about its approach and whether it could be helpful to yourself and individuals or groups you engage with.
The training component will finish at 12pm followed by time for questions and conversations over light refreshments together.
Please RSVP for catering purposes.
